Community Commitment

At Grundy Bank, we believe in giving back.

What We Do

At Grundy Bank, we believe being a community bank means more than providing financial services—it means investing in the people and communities we serve. Through our time, talents, and resources, we are committed to making a meaningful and lasting difference in the communities that place their trust in us.

Our officers and employees actively give back by serving on nonprofit boards, volunteering their time, and supporting a wide range of charitable and community organizations. Their involvement includes organizations such as United Way, We Care of Grundy County, Kiwanis, Illinois Valley Industries, Habitat for Humanity, Morris Hospital YMCA, GEDC, Grundy County Chamber, Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, IBA Ag Banking Committee, Joliet Junior College Foundation Board, Grundy County Housing Authority, Immaculate Conception School Board, and many others.

We are proud that our commitment to community involvement extends beyond individual volunteer efforts. More than 10 years ago, Grundy Bank established the Grundy Bank Caring Committee, a dedicated charitable group created to support nonprofit organizations and initiatives throughout our communities. Through the Caring Committee, we are able to provide additional resources to organizations that are making a difference every day.

At Grundy Bank, giving back is more than a tradition—it is part of who we are. We are honored to support the communities that have supported us and remain committed to helping them thrive for generations to come.

Lip Sync Battle for Charity

In 2026, Grundy Bank introduced its inaugural fundraising event, the Lip Sync Battle for Charity, featuring a variety of local nonprofit teams. Contestants had one hour to fundraise before taking the stage to give their best lip sync performance. The combination of fundraising, creativity, and friendly competition made for an entertaining afternoon that brought the community together.

Illinois Valley Industries won the Audience Choice Award, while Dakota’s Legacy – The Dakota Welch Memorial Fund received the Fundraising Award. The event raised nearly $2,500 in just a few hours, making the inaugural event a tremendous success and a fun way to support local nonprofits.

Ice Cream Social

Our annual Ice Cream Social is a beloved community tradition that brings people together while supporting a worthy cause. Attendees can enjoy delicious ice cream sundaes for just 25 cents per scoop, complete with an array of unlimited toppings. We also serve refreshing root beer floats, making the event a fun treat for the whole community.

All proceeds from the Ice Cream Social benefit the Grundy Bank Caring Committee, which supports local organizations and community initiatives. In 2025, the Caring Committee proudly supported We Care of Grundy County’s Back-to-School program, helping local students with their school supplies needs. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to present We Care with a $500 donation, making a meaningful difference for local students.

United Way

Grundy Bank is proud to support United Way of Grundy County. Each year, our employees make personal contributions to support the organization, and Grundy Bank makes an additional donation to help further their mission.

We’re especially proud to continue achieving 100% employee participation in supporting United Way each year. This commitment reflects our employees’ dedication to making a difference in the communities we serve.

Winter Coat Drive

Each winter, we organize a coat drive to help keep local individuals and families warm during the colder months. We collect winter clothing and gear—including coats, scarves, boots, snow pants, and gloves—at both our Main Bank in Morris and our Wilmington Branch.

To help ensure these donations reach members of our community who need them most, we partner with three local nonprofit organizations: We Care of Grundy County, Kuzma Cottage, and The Forgotten Garden.

We welcome donations of all sizes for people of all ages. Please ensure that donated items are new or gently used.

  • Starts: Friday, October 23, 2026
  • Ends: Monday, November 23, 2026

Additional Events

Back to School Drive

Each August, we kick off our Back to School Drive to support students in the Wilmington School District. We collect school supply donations for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade, helping ensure every student has the supplies they need to start the school year prepared for success. We’re proud to support local students and encourage our community to join us in helping make the start of a new school year a little brighter.

Jeans Day

Each month, we select a local nonprofit organization to support through our Jeans Day initiative. Employees can wear jeans to work on Fridays by making a donation to that month’s organization.

Through this program, we support 12 different nonprofit organizations each year. We’re proud to partner with organizations that make a difference in our community and to give our employees an opportunity to support causes that matter to them.

Micro Pantries

We believe everyone should have access to basic necessities, and we’re committed to helping meet the needs of our community. Through donations of dry goods, paper products, and other essential items, we help stock local micro pantries for individuals and families who may need a helping hand.

It’s a simple way to share what we can and make a meaningful difference right here at home.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Each year, our employees volunteer their time to ring bells and raise funds in partnership with We Care of Grundy County. This annual tradition gives us an opportunity to support local individuals and families while working alongside an organization dedicated to helping our community.

We’re proud to partner with We Care of Grundy County and continue this tradition of serving our neighbors and making a difference in our community.
